Analogue - Playtest invitation
Dear reader,
This is an invitation, written the way these games are played: as a letter, to be read slowly, with time to think before you answer.
Analogue: The Correspondence Trilogy is three roleplaying games in one book, all played by post. There is no game master and there is no table. You write letters, in character, and the wait between letters is part of the game.
- Analogue: Solo - for one player. Alone, for one year, in letters to yourself.
- Analogue: Duet - for two. You and one other write to each other, usually one letter each per week. A campaign at the shorter end runs about a season: twelve letters over roughly three months.
- Analogue: Ensemble - for a circle of three to six, by post over months and years. The longest arc, and the one that asks the most patience.
All three are ready for playtesting at the same time. We are looking for players who want to play the first version of one of them and tell us what happened. You will receive the playtest booklet for the game you choose - the full rules, a starting scenario, and a short list of questions for afterwards. You play in your own time, at your own pace. When your campaign ends, or pauses, or breaks, you write to us about it. A real letter is welcome. A mail is fine.
What we ask of you: a game of your choice, a regular moment to write, and honesty afterwards. For Duet, a second player; for Ensemble, a circle - or tell us you are still looking, and we will see who else is. What we do not ask: experience with roleplaying games. These games were written to be someone's first.
If you would like to play, write to info@netherbook.com. Tell us which game you would like to test, and who you are playing with. We will send you the booklet.
Take your time. That is what these games are about.
Kind regards,
Frank
