Twenty-four hundred years ago. Iron Age Northern Europe. The crops have failed and your village is starving. The gods demand a sacrifice to restore the fields, and you have been chosen. But you must be willing.
Tollund gives you four days. Four days to say goodbye, to speak with the people you love, to make your preparations, and to decide whether you accept your fate or refuse it. Your fate waits in the black water of the bog, but not yet. First there is time.
This is a solo journaling game, inspired by the Tollund Man, a real bog body from Iron Age Denmark. You never decide all at once. Each small choice tips the scales one way or the other, and the ending is the sum of everything you chose along the way.
You will need a standard deck of playing cards and thirteen tokens to play. The booklet is a full-colour A5 zine, around 58 pages, saddle-stitched.
A game about mortality, community, and willingness. Not for everyone, and that is the point. Please note: mature themes (death, grief, starvation, ritual sacrifice), 18+.
Ready for a quiet table, a deck of cards, and an open notebook.
