Sherwood is a tabletop roleplaying game of outlaw bands, forest justice, and dangerous medieval intrigue - with just enough arcana to make the greenwood feel truly haunted. You play rebels and rogues living beyond the law in a chivalric England where sheriffs and bishops can be as monstrous as any beast, and where sorcery, prophecy, and strange powers still stalk the old roads.
Character creation uses a lifepath approach, building your outlaw through origin, background abilities, a pre-outlaw career, and the Trouble that drove you into the forest - plus connections that can save you or get you into deeper trouble. The core engine centers on 2d6 skill checks and four hard-edged attributes - Endurance, Luck, Willpower, and Wits - which can be spent for dramatic pushes, last-second saves, and that perfect “of course I know a guy here” moment.
What really makes Sherwood sing is the group play: you don’t just make characters, you build an Outlaw Band with shared Resources and Legend, then define your Mission and Code - what you fight for, and what you refuse to become. From there you can raid tax wagons, outwit magistrates, protect the vulnerable, and spark rebellions that feel like folk ballads coming to life. For groups that want a Robin Hood vibe with sharper teeth, inclusive table guidance, and room for mythic weirdness, Sherwood is ready to run.
Sherwood is a softcover zine.
