Every Keeper needs a wall between the players and the truth. The Call of Cthulhu Keeper Screen Pack is that wall, and a good deal more: a sturdy three-panel screen, a rules booklet, two ready-to-run scenarios, twelve investigators and three large maps, all in one pack. It is the natural next step after the Keeper Rulebook.
The screen is printed on thick hardcover stock and folds out to about 86 cm wide. The players look at atmospheric artwork; you look at the rules that come up most often at the table, from skill rolls and combat to sanity and chases, so you spend less time flipping through the rulebook and more time building dread. A separate booklet collects the most commonly referenced rules for players and Keeper alike.
Two scenarios set in 1920s New England let you put the screen to work straight away. Blackwater Creek is an open, non-linear investigation into a small town quietly rotting under the influence of the Mythos. In Missed Dues the investigators work the wrong side of the law, tracking down a missing cat burglar for a local mob boss. Twelve pre-generated investigators come with the pack, so new players can sit down and start playing.
Three large full-colour maps round things off: the world of the 1920s, Lovecraft Country and the city of Arkham itself. They are useful far beyond these two scenarios, whether you run published adventures or write your own.
For use with the Call of Cthulhu Keeper Rulebook (7th edition). Written by Mike Mason, Scott Dorward and Paul Fricker, with screen art by Ardila.
