Old-School Essentials - OSE - is a restatement of the classic 1981 B/X Dungeons & Dragons rules. Same rules, rebuilt from the ground up. Clear, logical, and ready to play.

Everything is organized around "control panels" - side-by-side pages covering a single topic in full. No more page-flipping. Just play.

OSE is compatible with decades of classic adventures and supplements. Everything ever written for the B/X rules - and there is a lot of it - works without conversion. And because the system is light and easy to modify, referees have all the room they need to build their own world.

OSE comes in Classic Fantasy and Advanced Fantasy flavors. Classic is a faithful restatement of the original B/X rules. Advanced adds classes, spells, monsters, and optional rules drawn from early AD&D. Both are available as compact tomes or as box sets.
