Netherbook in the Blokhuispoort

A shop in a cell
The Blokhuispoort was Leeuwarden's prison for more than three centuries, from 1661 until 2007. Today the cells are studios, workshops and small shops, and one of them is ours. Cell 22 sits on the ground floor of the east wing. The walls are still the old walls. We are not allowed to paint them or put a nail in them, and we would not want to.
Netherbook started as a webshop in August 2025 and it still is one. The cell is the same shop with a door: the books you see on this site stand on the shelf here, at the same prices, from the same stock. Nothing on the site changes because the cell exists. It just means you can now hold a book before you buy it.
What you will find
The full Netherbook selection, or as much of it as twelve square metres will hold. Dungeons & Dragons, Daggerheart and Call of Cthulhu next to Mothership, Mörk Borg, Vaesen and the smaller games we love: solo journaling games, folk horror, old school dungeon crawls, games about language and first contact. Dice, a few accessories and our own publications.
If you are new to tabletop roleplaying and do not know where to start, say so. Recommending the right first book is the part of this shop we enjoy most.
Opening hours and address
Netherbook is usually open on Wednesday from 9:00 to 12:00 and from 13:00 to 17:00, and on Saturday from 13:00 to 17:00. The official opening is on Saturday 31 October 2026. On other days the webshop is open as always and orders ship as usual.
