Hope & Fear is coming: Daggerheart's first expansion arrives 25 August

Daggerheart has had quite a first year. The core set from Critical Role's Darrington Press became one of the most talked-about releases in the hobby, and tables everywhere have been rolling Hope and Fear ever since. Now the world is getting bigger. On 25 August, Hope & Fear, the first major expansion for Daggerheart, lands in our shop. Both the standard edition and the Deluxe Set.

What's in the book

Hope & Fear is a hardcover rulebook of roughly 200 pages, and it is aimed at players and GMs alike.

Players get four brand new classes: the Witch, the Warlock, the Brawler and the Assassin, each with two subclasses. The Witch and Warlock draw on an entirely new domain, Dread, with its own card set. There are also six new ancestries (including the elemental Skykin, Tidekin, Earthkin and Emberkin, plus the Gnome and the Aetheris), six new communities, and six transformation cards that let your character become a vampire, werewolf, ghost, shapeshifter, reanimated or even a demigod.

GMs are not left empty-handed either. The book adds over 130 adversaries, 28 environments, more than 100 new weapons, armor pieces and items, and four fresh campaign frames to build your next arc around. A rip pad of blank adversary sheets rounds it out.

The Deluxe Set

The Deluxe Set contains everything from the standard edition, wrapped in a gold foil box with wraparound artwork and a magnetic clasp. Inside you'll find alternate cover artwork, a GM screen with rhombic Fear tokens, a character sheet rip pad, and a full set of extra dice: seven sharp-edged polyhedrals, an oversized d20 and ten rhombic d12s. It is the kind of set you keep on the shelf where guests can see it.

Available 25 August, no pre-orders

Both editions go live in our shop on 25 August, the official release day. We don't do pre-orders, so there is nothing to reserve in advance: once they're up, they're up. The standard edition will be €39.95, the Deluxe Set €119.95.
